Two feats of extreme rudeness in Richmond this weekend. First, for lunch, we happened upon a Chipotle (mmmmmmmm . . .). The problem is that this location was in downtown Richmond, where parking is a premium. Fortunately, it shared a small parking lot with two other businesses, and that parking lot was for customers only. Unfortunately, it was lunch time, so the lot was busy. There were multiple cars waiting for a parking spot to open. The businesses had the lot set up perfectly. It was a one way and another way out (a one way parking lot deal). We pulled in behind two cars waiting for parking spots. After one secured a spot, the other waited for another car to back out and leave. The problem is that as soon as another car did that, a completely different car zoomed in from the other side of the parking lot (that's right, it blasted in through the exit) and stole that open spot. In fact, they almost collided with the car that had been waiting several minutes for a spot to open. While in Chipotle, rude lady was purchasing her food just ahead of us, and she tried to engage Leah Marie in a brief conversation, as Thing 1 said something funny. Leah Marie ignored her. Take your own medicine, rude lady.
Second, while on a brief walk to loosen our legs this fine Sunday morning, as we approached an intersection, and car stopped behind a bus, which was at a bus stop, where someone was sitting. The car behind the bus then proceeded to honk at the bus, which had stopped at a bus stop. Huh? Are people from Richmond really that rude?
On another note, I forgot to mention the barefoot guy that finished the 5k just ahead of me yesterday. Even the gravel portions of the course didn't slow him down. He looked completely comfortable. Don't try that at home, kids.
