Get Me Outta He'

The house that we are renting gets hot, really hot. The sun passes over the house at an angle and spends the second half of the day beating down on the front of the house, where the living room is and a large window, which sucks up as much heat as it can, bathing us in it. The front door sizzles. It climbed well into the 90s today. Our AC struggled to keep the house at 78 degrees. In fact, for much of the afternoon, the AC never turned off. We had it set to 78, but the actual temp in the house remained a constant 80 degrees. UGH! The house we are buying, and hopefully closing on in less than a month, sits in a well shaded area, where the sun has little chance of shining into the living room. Then the back of the house is covered by the shadow of a large black walnut tree. The whole area feels cooler, and the inside of the house today, without the AC on, did not climb above 78 degrees despite the 95 it hit outside. I am sure it will get warmer with us actually living there, but if the house we are renting didn't have the AC on today, it would have easily hit 90 in here. So, as the title proclaims, get me outta he' and into the shade.
