Corn Sugar?

I am sick of the corn industry trying to push high fructose corn syrup as the same thing as sugar. "Your body can't tell the difference . . . sugar is sugar," they say in there latest TV ads. What they fail to tell you is that high fructose corn syrup is engineered and that sugars are not "created" equal. First of all, there are three basic sugars: sucrose, lactose, and fructose. Sucrose is your basic "white" sugar, or if you prefer it unrefined, it is brown or has a brown tint to it. Lactose is formed from the galactose and glucose and is most commonly found in milk. Fructose is the sugar produced by fruit. Your body breaks down each of these sugars differently and some more easily than others. You've probably heard of lactose intolerance. I once read a description about how high fructose corn syrup is made. The end product, interestingly, is not that much different than basic corn syrup. In fact, it has only about 5% more fructose than is natural, with skews the natural balance of the sugar. That imbalance is what gives us the "high" in high fructose corn syrup. I don't know about you, but I am not interested in putting that engineered, unnatural blood-sugar-spiking poison into my body. Just give me the good stuff, 100% pure, unrefined, organic sucrose. It truly doesn't get any better than that. If you have never had anything but super refined white granulated sugar, give the good stuff a try. You will never go back, and you will certainly stay away from "corn sugar."
