Movies

Leah Marie and I love to go to the movies. Sadly, we have not done a whole lot of that since we moved to Virginia. The selection in our area is anemic, but the real problem is that we don't have the same opportunity to attend movies that we did in a larger city, especially when we lived, literally, two minutes from a 20 auditorium AMC Theater. The big benefit there was that movies played all day long, everyday, so we could plan trade-offs with the Things and take turns watching a movie on any given day. Here, the times are severely limited, so we have to plan well in advance and seek the help of a babysitter. Sadly, we fail too often at planning far enough in advance to secure babysitters. Therefore, our attendance at the movie theater has fallen dramatically in the last year. We keep missing great movies, or only one of us will get to see a movie, and the other never gets a chance. Oh, how I long to get back to the movies more often, together. Yes, yes, going to the movies these days is expensive, but there is nothing like it: a great movie on the big screen is still one of the best forms of entertainment in a break from reality. So if you haven't been to the movies in a while, get out there and see one and forget about the cost. Just let go and enjoy!
