Unexpected Turn of Events

The Mormon Scholars in the Humanities Conference concluded today. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in it and meeting new colleagues who not only share the same academic interests but the same faith, too. This morning, at the breakfast/business meeting, we discussed future conference themes and locations. We then voted on new officers. You are currently reading a blog post written by the newly elected vice president of the Mormon Scholars in the Humanities. I actually volunteered (nominated myself) because no one else spoke up or wanted to do it. I am happy to serve and help this great organization grow. Hopefully, I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.
