Crime and Punishment

We have more people incarcerated in this country than are incarcerated in any other country. Some experts say that it's because of the drug war, but who are the drug related criminals that are in jail? The majority of them are small time dealers or people on possession charges. I often think about how much we over punish in this country, from the death penalty to the three strikes law in California. In fact, I think I am going to put some more thought into this and develop another in-depth post like I did with Socialism. This country desperately needs to figure out a better way to address crime and to treat the criminals committing those crimes.
