If your haven't heard the latest Republican rape fiasco, then you need to crawl out from under your rock. Richard Mourdock (R) is currently running for the U.S. Senate in Indiana. In a recent debate, he claimed that pregnancy that occurred as the result of a rape is what God intended. I don't know what is more disillusioning, how clueless Mourdock is, or how some Republican women  have completely bought into this nonsense. While listening to a report on this story, I heard a sound bite from one of those Republican women. She said that everyone has completely misunderstood Mourdock's comments. What he meant to say was that God has a plan for all of us. Okay, did she not listen to the man's comments? She can Google it if she needs to hear them again. If she (or he) believes that rape falls under the scope of providence, then she must also deny humans free will. However, determinism is not part of any Christian doctrine that I am aware of. It sounds like one could then say that God intended a specific death as the result of murder, so it was okay for the murderer to commit his act. Get with the program people. Nearly every Republican feels this way, including Romney's running mate. There's something horribly wrong in the collective conscious of the Grand Old Party. Get out while you still can.
