Exciting Time of Year

This is one of the best times of the year for me for a lot of reasons. First, it's the time of year that we celebrate the birth of the Savior of mankind. So it is a time to reflect on the great gifts with which we have been blessed: God's gift of His Son, and the Son's gift of His life, among many other gifts. There are also a few other major holidays this time of year, including Hanukkah, celebrated by my people (ancestors). We have decided to recognize that in our home this year (and from now on), in honor of my family's Jewish heritage. The highlights don't stop there. We also get to celebrate Thing 1's birthday. He will be four this year. The best part is that my profession allows me the time off to be with my family this time of year. Taxing my brain and body to their limits over the course of a semester makes the time off taste so much better. I love my life, and I love this time of year and the time it allows me to spend with my family.
